WORKSHOPS & OUTREACH.
Gary Gives hosts volunteer workshops throughout the year, welcoming Kid and Teen Givers to gather and create care packages for community members experiencing homelessness. With the guidance and support of Gary Gives leaders, youth volunteers personally place needed items into each care package and include a decorated note or card at the end.
Once care package assembly is complete, youth volunteers and Gary Gives leadership engage in community outreach, gathering to safely distribute each care package within a designated and agreed upon area of San Diego County.

Assembled with care by our Kid-Givers, care packages include various items ranging from seasonal clothing to consumable items with the goal of providing rapid resources to those in need. Items are typically assembled in reusable Gary Gives bags to allow long-term, convenient use for the recipient.
Each care package includes a hygiene kit, complete with men's/women's personal hygiene products, soap, toothbrush and toothpaste, hand sanitizer, masks and other items related to personal care.
Gary Gives offers community service to interested teens and young adults. Teen-Giver hours can be served helping with event setup/breakdown, care package assembly, care package distribution and/or other services as needed depending on the event.
